An extraordinary 2.83 carat Violet coloured diamond has been unveiled by the Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia, as part of the 2016 Argyle Diamond Tender. The stunning Oval cut natural stone is the largest Violet diamond ever mined from Argyle.
It has a unique colour grading of Fancy Deep Grayish Bluish Violet making it extremely rare and sought after. The diamond is one of five hero stones that will headline this year’s Argyle Pink Diamonds Signature Tender, named the ‘Chroma Collection’ due to the vast and dazzling array of colours present.
An incomparable selection
There are 63 diamonds total in this year’s Argyle Tender, including 57 pink, 4 red and 2 violet. It is an exceptionally special offering of stones with colours and clarity grades never seen before. In the last 32 years only 12 carats worth of polished violet diamonds from the Argyle mine have ever been presented.
The 2016 Argyle Diamond Tender collection was initially previewed in Copenhagen, Denmark and will next be shown in Hong Kong, New York, and Perth. Sale of the diamonds is expected to reach new heights, in particular the Argyle Violet Oval diamond could fetch between $2.5 million to $5 million. We look forward to seeing more of this incredible Tender.
